So rather than rebuild the Crimson Scars again but in Skyrim, Drake created a new guild with the intention of spreading to all the provinces and making the most of the coming conflict that was the continuing of the Great War. Having encountered and fought the native Volkihar Vampires and even the Purebloods of Skyrim Drake realized that even the less civilized strains and overtly-reclusive purebloods could have their uses in the Scars. The political machinations of the Skyrim Jarls could have all been solved with the right contracts but since the Dark Brotherhood had been wittled down by the Crimson Scars and the Dominion they were never even considered by the people of the North. Drake disbanded the guild and fled north to Skyrim leaving trails of dead assassins behind him.Īfter Drake's experiences in Skyrim during the Dragon Crisis he found that the need for skilled assassins in Tamriel was still very much alive. The Dark Brotherhood assaulted the base of the Crimson Scars and scattered the nightstalkers. Through the careless mistakes of a few Scars who engaged the Dominion in open combat and then fled to the Scars' base in Deepscorn Hollow the Black Hand was able to track down the Vampiric guild once and for all. Once the Great War between the Empire and Aldmeri Dominion began Cyrodiil became difficult to navigate for anyone, even Vampires. Over time the Crimson Scars managed to sabotage and wear-down the Dark Brotherhood and harm their reputation by causing the guild to fail many contracts. The guild is led by an ancient Vampire of the Order named Drake Malice who had originally rebuilt the Crimson Scars at the beginning of the Fourth Era but had to disband them towards the end of the Great War with the Aldmeri Dominion.Īt the end of the Third Era after the Oblivion Crisis ended a former member of the Dark Brotherhood, Drake Malice, rebuilt the Crimson Scars in order to exact revenge against the Night Mother and her children for the Purge of the Cheydinhal Sanctuary which included Drake at the time. The Black Scars are comprised of Vampires from multiple strains and operates across the whole of Tamriel. The Black Scars are known for being a departure from the guild's original form of which was fully comprised of Vampires from the Order and only operated in Cyrodiil.
